WHAT DOES THERAPEUTIC ULTRASOUND DO?

It increases circulation to tissue by providing deep heat which also helps to decrease pain.

HOW IS IT PERFORMED? 

Ultrasound is performed with a machine that has an ultrasound transducter (sound head).  A small amount of gel is aspplied to the particular body part; then your chiropractor will slowly move the sound head in a small circular direction on your body.  Different settings are used in various stages of healing.

HOW DOES IT FEEL?

Ultrasound is painless and you shouldn't feel anything apart from a slight warming feeling.
